Her passion for massage started 25 years ago, when she first started learning massage for her then pre-maturely born daughter. Seeing firsthand the benefits of massage on movement and muscle tone, she knew massage was a key component to recovery, and utilized massage, laser, KT Taping, and more in her own athletic career.
In 2017, Bailey, her chocolate lab was competing at a dock diving event and seemed to be favoring one of her rear legs. There was a massage therapist onsite who aided in helping Bailey that day, and it was shortly thereafter when Rachel went back to school and completed her certification. Since then, Rachel has had the pleasure of performing massage and other soft tissue services at many canine sporting events, local, regional, national and world championships.
Rachel believes all dogs can benefit from massage, even pet dogs and senior dogs. Each of her treatment sessions are uniquely created based upon the history of the animal, specific analysis of movement, temperament, and each dogs individual body needs.
Currently, Rachel resides in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area, and provides services at Michigan K9 Athletic Center, and Einstein Dog Training. In addition to her two offices, Rachel travels to many different canine competitions including dock diving, flyball, frisbee, agility trials, and more.
